Extensive Training
Dr. Mejia received her first dental degree in her native Dominican Republic, where she studied at the prestigious Dental University in Santo Domingo. Then she moved to the US and studied at New York University, receiving a second dental degree from NYU, where she also completed a residency focused on dental implants.
Since getting these dental degrees, Dr. Mejia has continued her training by taking a fellowship with Dr. Jay Gerber in the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ. In addition, she has trained at the Center for Occlusal Studies and the Facial Beauty Institute to acquire a comprehensive and multifaceted approach to treating TMJ.

Dr. Mejia helps improve and shape her formal education as a dentist by maintaining membership in several dental organizations. These organizations help her steer the course of dentistry, and maintain very high standards for patient care. In addition to dentistry, Dr. Mejia enjoys a wide range of personal interests. She enjoys physical activities like skiing, running, and dance, favoring Latin dance styles like Salsa. Travel is also a favorite family activity, and Dr. Mejia takes her three girls on her travels, including skiing trips, where the children show they’re better skiers than their parents. For a quiet evening at home, Dr. Mejia loves curling up to watch a comedy film.
